Man dies after shark attack on Great Barrier Reef in Queensland
A 39-year-old man died on Sunday after being attacked by a shark while fishing at Kennedy Shoal, approximately 50km off the Queensland coast between Cairns and Townsville. Emergency services retrieved him from the water in critical condition, but he died from his injuries shortly after being brought ashore. Queensland police confirmed the death and will prepare a report for the coroner.
