WHO upgrades Ebola outbreak risk assessment in Democratic Republic of Congo to very high
The World Health Organization raised the public health risk level for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola in the Democratic Republic of Congo from high to very high at the national level on Friday. The outbreak has confirmed 82 cases with 7 deaths, but suspected cases number around 750 with 177 suspected deaths. Ituri province, the epicenter, has implemented containment measures including bans on public gatherings and funeral wakes.
