Texas Children's Hospital settles with state attorney general, agrees to create detransition clinic and pay $10 million

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced a $10 million settlement with Texas Children's Hospital following a three-year investigation into the hospital's gender transition procedures for minors. The settlement requires the hospital to establish a detransition clinic, cease gender transition services for minors, fire physicians who performed such procedures, and repay Medicaid for improperly billed gender transition treatments. The detransition clinic will provide free care for five years to patients who underwent gender transitions.
