Researchers identify new species of giant sauropod dinosaur in Thailand
A new species of sauropod dinosaur, named Nagatitan chaiyaphumensis, has been identified from fossils discovered in northeastern Thailand. The dinosaur was approximately 27-30 tons and 88-90 feet long, making it the largest dinosaur found in Southeast Asia. The discovery, published in Scientific Reports, dates to 100-120 million years ago and provides insights into the evolutionary trend toward giant sauropods in the Cretaceous period.
