In Tuesday's Indiana Republican state Senate primaries, five of seven incumbent senators targeted by Trump lost to his endorsed challengers after they had voted against a redistricting bill that would have redrawn congressional maps to benefit Republicans. Groups aligned with Sen. Jim Banks spent $8 million backing the challengers. Primaries also took place in Ohio for U.S. Senate and governor, and a Michigan state Senate special election was held.
