Trump announces removal of Scotch whisky tariffs following King Charles III and Queen Camilla's White House visit
President Donald Trump announced Thursday he is lifting tariffs on Scotch whisky, framing the move as a gesture honoring King Charles III and Queen Camilla's state visit to the United States. Trump posted on Truth Social that he would remove 'Tariffs and Restrictions on Whiskey having to do with Scotland's ability to work with the Commonwealth of Kentucky on Whiskey and Bourbon.' The Scotch Whisky Association had previously reported a 15% drop in U.S. export volume after the 10% tariff was imposed in April 2025.
