Mallory McMorrow deletes thousands of tweets containing progressive statements ahead of Michigan Senate primary
Mallory McMorrow, a Democratic Michigan state senator running for U.S. Senate, has deleted approximately 6,000 tweets that included progressive statements such as support for Black Lives Matter and criticism of Donald Trump. CNN's investigation using the Wayback Machine also revealed deleted posts where McMorrow claimed to be a California resident and voter as late as July 2016, despite stating in her autobiography that she permanently relocated to Michigan in 2014. McMorrow has positioned herself as a centrist in the primary race against progressive candidate Abdul El-Sayed and Rep. Haley Stevens.
