State Department announces limited-edition US passports featuring President Trump's image for the 250th anniversary of American independence

The State Department announced it will release a limited number of specially designed US passports featuring President Trump's portrait, signature in gold, and imagery from the Declaration of Independence to commemorate the 250th anniversary of US independence in July. The passports will initially be available only through the Washington Passport Agency, and applicants at that agency cannot opt out of the design. The announcement prompted a satirical response from California Governor Gavin Newsom's office and criticism from at least one Republican congressman.
