US Customs and Border Protection launches online portal for businesses to claim refunds on IEEPA tariffs struck down by the Supreme Court
The US Supreme Court ruled in February that President Trump lacked constitutional authority to impose tariffs under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA). The US Court of International Trade subsequently ordered the administration to begin reimbursing importers, and CBP launched the CAPE portal on Monday to process claims. As of early April, about 56,500 of the 330,000 affected importers had completed enrollment, with eligible refunds totaling approximately $127 billion including interest.
