DOJ warns California to drop Glock ban or face federal lawsuit.

Assistant Attorney General Harmeet Dhillon notified California Governor Gavin Newsom and Attorney General Rob Bonta on June 24, 2026 that the DOJ will sue if the state's Glock ban takes effect as scheduled on July 1, 2026. The law, signed in October 2025, restricts sales of Glock pistols. Dhillon posted on X that the restrictions are unconstitutional.
